Mon 26 Mar - Wed 28 Mar Management and Leadership Skills for Environmental Health and Safety Professionals
Over five hundred EHS professionals have participated in this program and benefited from the wealth of experiences shared. Work smarter, not harder — make strategic contributions and gain increased respect, rewards, and recognition. Develop proven leadership and management skills: Leadership and management skills are essential for meeting today’s technical, regulatory, and administrative challenges; EHS professionals must learn how to make strategic contributions as well as to advocate and communicate the need for safety and health initiatives within their organization. Environment, health, and safety professionals from all organizations will gain the management training needed to develop strategies for integrating a culture of safety and sustainability into their organizations. Effectively manage critical EHS objectives: This program provides oversight and focused skill building in the critical areas of leadership and management development with the objective of bridging the gap between EHS technical skills and leadership skills essential for achieving organizational objectives that meet ISO 14001, ANSI Z10, OSHA VPP, and EPA’s NEIC management system standards and sustainability requirements. Taught in a highly interactive classroom, the content explored through lectures, case studies, and team exercises as teaching methods. The Fourth International Symposium and Exhibition on the Redevelopment of Manufactured Gas Plant Sites (MGP 2012) will be held at the historic Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago, Illinois, USA on March 27 - 30, 2012. Symposium organizers for MGP 2012 are Ish, Inc., GEI Consultants, Inc., The International Society of Technical & Environmental Professionals, Inc. and the Center for Biomedical & Toxicological Research at Florida State University. With the Symposium being held in the United States, the topics of most interest will deal with how best to meet the regulatory and risk reduction requirements for site closure. As more and more former MGP sites are earmarked for remediation, a number of site-specific regulatory, community-awareness and technology issues become critical to meeting closure deadlines.
